The Del Mar Beach Club Upper Stabilization Project required 60 18-inch-diameter and 50-foot deep drilled, cast-in-place piers and grade beams, with a reinforced concrete retaining wall. Access was limited by tides and a near-vertical, 70-foot cliff.
 
OUR MISSION
J.C. Baldwin Construction (JCB) was retained as the general engineering contractor to stabilize the bluff below the exclusive beach front community. The 50-foot deep drilled piers were installed just inches away from the existing buildings. This was done by connecting grade beams and caissons to shore up the three-story condominiums on the bluff.
 
In addition, JCB finished the Del Mar Beach Club Upper Stabilization project on time and on budget. The results of the project are outstanding and will save the Beach Club Condominiums from future complications in bluff failure.
