The Colony Cove Bluff Stabilization project consisted of stabilizing the coastal bluff failure that is located at the northwesterly end of Pacific Coast Highway in San Clemente.
 
OUR MISSION
J.C. Baldwin Construction (JCB) was retained as the general engineering contractor with the City of San Clemente to provide installation of 189 95'- long tiebacks, 316 19'-24'- long soil nails, as well as construction of an 80' tall x 850' long concrete wall. The 80-foot-tall project at the Colony Cove location was completed on time and on budget under very difficult site conditions. JCB worked within one foot of the homes located directly above. In addition, JCB was responsible for keeping the traffic flow on Pacific Coast Highway in full operation during the entire project. The Colony Cove Bluff Stabilization project was completed in October 1996. Following completion, JCB received much acclaim for the natural aesthetic rock formation finish on the wall. In addition, the City of San Clemente honored JCB with an award for outstanding service and excellence in construction.
